Great insights! I’m curious to learn more about how can we design age-appropriate ways to help kids build memory and internalization skills, especially when shortcuts are everywhere? And do you think there are certain ages where relying on tools like AI might be more or less harmful? Thanks!
Hey Ema, sorry that it took me so long to reply. Glad you liked the Edu-Snippets. With regards to your question, retrieval practice has been shown to be beneficial for learners of all ages and across all contexts. Combine it with spaced practice and you have a power combo. Retrievalpractice.org has many amazing resources and ideas on how to do it. With regards to your other question about relying on AI, I personally view it as an aid rather than a crutch. So it's not so much about the age as much as it is about where on the knowledge spectrum the learner is. Don't skip knowledge acquisition, impart the knowledge, allow it to make meaning and sure use AI as a support mechanism than as a first point of attempt. Makes sense? That's where I'm at currently in my understanding of it. It id evolving as we are learning more.

So grateful for this article. And I’m finding it deeply disturbing as I compare it to my personal experience.
Thank you Meri! Yes, we can't skimp on the think. Such a powerful tool for our brains. Research is ever evolving and we try to stay abreast of it.
